Aquatox, EPA Release 1, September 2000. Office of Water, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Summary: Aquatox is a PC-based ecosystem model that simulates the transfer of biomass and chemicals from one ecosystem component to another. It does this by simultaneously computing important chemical and biological processes over time. Aquatox can predict not only the fate of chemicals in aquatic ecosystems, but also their direct and indirect effects on the ecosystem. Therefore, it has the potential to help establish cause and effect reslationships between chemical water quality, the physical environment, and aquatic life.

Summary: This CD-ROM publication is a compilation of twenty-nine previously published mineral deposit models and related reports of the U.S. Geological Survey. It, in part, refelcts a history of mineral deposit model development within the USGS. Model types presented include descriptive, grade-tonnage, geoenvironmental, and geophysical. These models generally are a compilation of the geological, geochemical, and geophysical characteristics of various types of metallic and nonmetallic mineral deposits. The models list attributes intended to be guides for resource and geoenvironmental studies and for mineral exploration. The models are presented using the lithologic-tectonic environment mineral deposit classification scheme originally developed by Cox and Singer (1986).
